BIDII –  Frequently Asked Questions

What is Bidii?

Bidii is an online platform dedicated to educating and empowering the African Caribbean community on health and wellness.  Giving space for health experts from the community to pass meaningful knowledge to the community.

Why look at health specifically for the African Caribbean community?

The Bidii platform seeks to shed light on health inequalities and the specific challenges affecting the health and well-being of the African Caribbean community. While national health statistics and services aim to cater to all communities, they often struggle to fully address and understand the unique needs of this group.

Bidii focuses on amplifying the voices of experts within the African Caribbean community who can provide culturally relevant information and guidance. It serves as a valuable resource to complement the care and services provided by your local GP or healthcare provider.

Bidii provides a collection of articles and resources tailored to support the health and well-being of the African Caribbean community. Our content focuses on practical, preventative measures to reduce the risk of chronic diseases. By adopting healthy habits such as regular exercise, balanced nutrition, and sufficient sleep, you can strengthen your immune system, boost energy levels, and enhance your overall quality of life.

Why does Bidii focus on vegan/plant-based eating?

Bidii was founded with a focus on health and well-being, particularly within the African Caribbean community. The journey of researching the benefits of plants was so inspiring that it became the core of our mission. The Bidii platform aims to provide valuable insights into plant-based living while encouraging those who enjoy meat to discover the benefits of incorporating more fruits and vegetables into their diet, with a focus on culturally relevant practices and flavours.
